October 1989: World Series Game

The earthquake in San Francisco overshadowed the World Series played (literally) at the same time. It was Oakland against San Francisco, and the A's had a lot to prove. They had been heavy favorites in 1988 against the Dodgers, but were swept four games to none. And here they were again, heavy favorites again. With a line-up featuring such bats as Mark McGwire, Dave Parker, Jose Conseco, and Dave Henderson, the A's were simply the best team of their time, and this time, they would not be embarrassed.
