May 3, 1981: The Celtics had pulled off the best record in the East and were led by 2nd year Larry Bird, rookie Kevin McHale, Robert Parish and Nate "Tiny" Archibald. The Sixers had Julius Erving in his prime along with Mo Cheeks, Lionel Hollins, Andrew Toney, Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins and Bobby Jones. The Sixers had raced out to a 3-1 series lead but the young Celtics battled back in Games 5 and 6 to bring this to a memorable Game 7 at the Boston Garden.

A fantastic game that was tied 13 times and 17 lead changes. The Lakers were the best team in the NBA led by stars Magic, Kareem and Worthy. But, the 76ers were strating to feel a revival led by younsgter Charles Barkley. A big name does win this one.

A highly-entertaining game that was contested to the very end.

However, it was a fascinating look into the West's most dominant team led by Drexler, Kersey and Porter facing an up-and-coming Suns team just before the Charles Barkley era.
